Mackenzie Cottage is set in the peaceful grounds of Mackenzie House and is only five minutes walk from the centre of the beautiful and elegant Victorian Spa village of Strathpeffer in Ross-shire, Scottish Highlands. With it's own private garden area and off-road parking for up to two cars, Mackenzie Cottage is pefectly placed to explore all the charms and attractions of the Scottish Highlands. With the Black-Isle Peninsula just 20 minutes drive away you might be lucky enough see the Moray Firth dolphins at Chanonry Point. Ullapool and the West Coast is within an easy 1 hour drive away and the city of Inverness, with all it's family entertainments, is also only 20 minutes drive.
Mackenzie Cottage is suitable for anyone looking for a comfortable base for a relaxing Highland holiday. All modern conveniences are provided for a relaxing break including FreesatTV/DVD, CD radio, microwave, washing machine, fridge & freezer, electric hob cooker and fan-oven. The facilities are also disabled friendly with level access flooring and a large shower room with seating and handrails in the shower booth. There is a BBQ and outdoor garden seating in the private garden area. There is good mobile phone reception and free WiFi is available on request.

Apart from the beautiful scenery and grand Victorian architecture, Strathpeffer has small supermarket, Post Office and pharmacy. The stunning Strathpeffer Pavilion has a varied events programme also houses the Red Poppy restaurant. There is an excellent 18-hole Golf course, The Highland Museum of Childhood at the Old Railway Station, The Upper Pump Room Visitor and Information Centre, the excellent Belgian chocolate shop, Maya, and cafes and interesting gift shops. There is the excellently stocked Square Wheels cycle shop too. With loads of walks locally, plenty of cycling both on and off road, and along with Ben Wyvis ( just over 3000') to climb, you will not be short of something to do ! Mackenzie Cottage is also an ideal location for hillwalkers looking to do the Fannichs around Torridon and Glen Affric near Beauly or mountain-bikers looking for the exciting Highland mountainbike trail centres like Wildcat at Golspie or Learnie Redrocks on the Black-Isle. There is plenty of fishing locally and we can arrange that too. Alternatively, you can amble about and just enjoy the area doing nothing but soak up the atmosphere!
